Canada to ban ‘Assault Weapons’ effective immediately

Canada just announced that they will make it illegal to sell, transport, import, or use over 1500 styles of rifles. We all know that “assault weapon” is code for “scary looking rifle”, having absolutely nothing to do with function but that didn’t stop Trudeau from issuing the ban.

"These weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only — only to kill the largest amount of people in the shortest amount of time," he said in a press conference on Friday.

Or, you know, hunt, target shoot, compete with, defend yourself…

Canada has gun registration so the government knows where every single rifle is. That’s why we don’t compromise when folks want “universal background checks.” There’s no way universal background checks happen without registration.
